Chocolate for Dad

Shared squares of taste induced memories

Wisps of happiness

Deep cell remembrances

Of a life well lived

    Hi Laura,
Just wanted to let you know that I’m thinking of you. I hope that you are doing ok with the terrible storms that are tearing through the coast. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Also, I nominated you for the Leibster Award if you would like to participate whenever you are back to blogging again. There’s no pressure at all to post about it, especially with everything else going on, but I love your blog and wanted to let you know.

Dad’s funeral/celebration of life was yesterday…will be leaving for SC on Friday with hubby at the wheel of our little Toyota. As for those storms…Terry drove out of the Hurricane to come to me here…how romantic and valiant and loyal…It’s been a comfort with him by my side once again…
Terry (hubby) likes to start the story: “I drove out of Hurricane Matthew to reunite with Laura after her Dad passed away…”
And, yes, I will definitely look into the Leibster Award deets after I get back…thank you for thinking of me in these times as well as nominating me.
      take care
      peace

I’m very sorry for the pain of the loss of your father. Our solace is the knowledge that he is with God while continuing to watch over you.

Thank you for the reminder that He is continuing to care/watch over me during this time. Sometimes I forget.

I’ve been visiting new blogs today (new to me), and I came across this sad time you are going through. My heart goes out to you. May you find some comfort as you grieve.

Laura, I am so sorry for your loss. It is amazing and also painful the way our senses can jolt us into a memory so suddenly and without any warning. I am instantaneously transported to my grandfather’s kitchen when I smell freshly roasted coffee brewing in just a certain way, at just a certain time of morning, when the air is silent and still. Sending you love and prayers, and praying for your dad, that he may be in heaven and know the peace that only God can give.

Beautiful image of your grandfather’s kitchen and coffee aroma…
Thank you for all your prayers and encouragements.

I am so sorry for your loss, Laura. I love your line about “deep cell remembrances.” Our loved ones do become a part of our very beings, bodily as well as spiritually.

    • laura bruno lilly

      Thank you.
If anyone ‘gets’ that line other than myself, I figured you would.

So sorry for you having lost your dad this past week. He lived a long life. I know the loss since both my parents are gone., both in their 60’s.

    • laura bruno lilly

Donna, your folks, gone too soon, too young…I do realize the gift of Dad’s quality of longevity and ache all the more for those such as yourself.
