(WordPress...geesh! Thanks for re-commenting!)
You're right - Tuesday's Gone! I like that song & it's a stand-alone piece, relevant to the subject matter in this post. And I thought about using it, even! But I admit I over the years, I personally have had a hard time with the persona that is Lynyrd Skynyrd even if their music is good. Speaking for myself, their 'brand' - which might have started as a perceived innocent marketing gimmick back in the day - is really quite troublesome and downright offensive, so, I decided against **highlighting** it in my post. Ya know? Some modern articles that might interest you which shed light on all of this in a fairly balanced way (including the times in which these songs were written): https://rockandrollglobe.com/music-journalism/why-listening-to-lynyrd-skynyrd-twists-my-innyrds/ and https://www.facebook.com/AXSTV/videos/neil-young-vs-lynyrd-skynyrd-musics-greatest-mysteries/1198272937235306/.
Enjoy your weekend, too, Mark. And may all your Birds be Free (get it?)

And now Tuesday's gone, too...which reminds me of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Hope you have a great weekend, Laura!

(I tried leaving a more timely comment earlier this week, but it apparently got lost in the wind.)

Yay! Music in the schools does make a difference! :-)
I had to look up Pogo Patterson & Grange Hill - I can see the appeal it held for kids/youth, especially by guys coming of age! Reminds me of some of the kids/youth programs produced on cable network Nickelodeon in the 90s here.

Welcome back. Though you were never really gone, your heart and spirit remained with us!

Lady Madonna always takes me back to secondary school - so somewhere between 1983 and 1986 (a further two years awaited young Andy in high school). There are only three songs I remember from our music lessons: Feeling Groovy and Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, and the aforementioned Beatles song. I remember Mr Patterson - Pogo Patterson after a Grange Hill character- pounding away at the piano. I hope school kids today still do those songs. I do !

Aww, thanks for that, teacher. Maybe Gloria could introduce her friends to the blues sometime, eh? ;-)

Well right now, your plate is full with book stuff that requires your unwavering attention and a break now and then whenever you can manage it! You're right about the jumping back in thing, it felt good - timing is everything IMHO. Glad you enjoyed the music!

I've missed you, and of course you returned in the cleverest of ways. It was 'so you.' You picked great songs, so thanks for the memories. I did not know the final song, but I so love the blues. Everyone should, right?

Welcome Back! I've missed you. I do agree with "other" Laura that sometimes a break is greatly needed, and that's okay. (Sometimes I feel like I'm needing that break!) But jumping back in after you've been gone a while can feel refreshing too. Thank you for the music, too. New to me blues to add to my playlist.
