My purple petunias in the dark teal pot (great unexpected color combo!) are beginning their entry into the hot summer fade...flowers have been prolific since early April, so we&#039;ve enjoyed their contribution to our front porch railing menagerie.

I remember there was once a Lone Hollyhock that made its way through the asphalt ground of a major retail parking lot.  The hope reflected there was not only in the &#039;flower living on&#039; but also in the actions of everyday people to help enable it to live out its flowering life. There were little rock &#039;barricades&#039; set up around it in order to protect it from on-coming cars with intent to park over it.
