My purple petunias in the dark teal pot (great unexpected color combo!) are beginning their entry into the hot summer fade…flowers have been prolific since early April, so we’ve enjoyed their contribution to our front porch railing menagerie.

That is such a beautiful quote. If only it was felt worldwide. Sometimes the flowers bloom in the worst of conditions, and the hope lies in the flower just living on.
I remember there was once a Lone Hollyhock that made its way through the asphalt ground of a major retail parking lot. The hope reflected there was not only in the ‘flower living on’ but also in the actions of everyday people to help enable it to live out its flowering life. There were little rock ‘barricades’ set up around it in order to protect it from on-coming cars with intent to park over it. Amazingly, it lived through most of the growing season…
We bought some petunias today; hoping they enjoy a long bountiful summer! 🙂
