Shelter. That’s maybe all man has ever wanted. Shelter; warmth; food.

Lately the term, “desperately displaced” has been bandied about. As if living ‘between homes – displaced’ is not desperate in and of itself…
Giving Voice to those seeking safe places to live and hunker down; where surviving IS thriving. God Bless and have Mercy on us all.

Awesome, Laura!
I love collaborative efforts especially when they speak to the (he)art of life’s issues.
Laura, such a touching post and video! I watched the latter numerous times, the music hypnotic, the words more relevant than ever … and how wonderful that artists from around the world are involved in its creation. The Irish proverb at the start of the video says it all: “It is in the shelter of each other that people live.” So true!
So glad to pass it on…
Thanks for the inclusion, Laura.
And another great musical collaboration.
You’re welcome, bud.
Wow! What a wonderful collaboration Laura. I really enjoyed it. It is sad that so many people are without shelter today.
Yes, indeed.
Thanks for stopping by, Brigid.
Hi Laura! Oh this post. On so many levels it touches me. Milwaukee is hosting the DNC (Democratic National Convention) in July. Under one of the major freeways near the site of the DNC is a huge homeless community. All of those dwellers need to find a new place to ‘live’ because it is becoming a ‘green space’. Rather than actually dealing with the true issue at hand in a humane way with empathy, instead I suspect the Police will have to physically remove some dwellers. Who cares where they go – they just have to move. I wish I could just offer them all a nice, safe, warm place to live with the healthcare they need and a job if they want one. That’s not too much to ask – a kind word and assistance. ~smile~ Roseanne
-sigh-
Thanks for your articulate comment on this, Roseanne.
L. Marie says it well. So does the opening Irish proverb! ‘It is in the shelter of each other that people live.” Beautiful! I wish we would all put that into practice!
If we all just do our own part in our own little slice of this huge world…
Thanks for stopping by, Laura!
I love those songs that are compilations of various people performing, especially when done well. Yes, a lot of people need shelter now, especially when the temperature drops and the city has pushed the homeless out of the river valley.
Check out Playing for Change there are many such collaborations and all for ‘a cause’.
Shame on the city…
🙁
Well said, Laura–you and Andy. We all need shelter. (I can’t help thinking of Psalm 91:1 also.) Love these songs with musicians all around the world!
Yes, “(S)he who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Thanks for that, L. Marie.
I’m not familiar with Psalm 91:1 but I do like its message. I also like you shining light on this situation that breaks my heart. Thanks.
Hugs…
