New Day.
Slanty Sunshine.
Red Kissed Leaves against Burnt Sienna Bark.
Our corner of this world feels like us right now.
The weighted despotic domination lifted by us the people – supported by a democratic system not yet fully destroyed.
It is just enough.
To begin rebuilding.
I don’t feel wildly productive – but I suppose what I do manage to produce is enough.
For now.
Small returns to the loves of my soul – small feedings of my spirit –
Strength comes in bits.
Hold tight and climb. Hold tight and make meaning with what surrounds. With what remains.
It is a casting – an offering – of bread upon water.

Productive enough to produce some great poetry.
As the year nears its end perhaps this can offer some hope for the new one to come? ‘Hold tight and climb.’
Thank you, Sir Poet of Manchester. I appreciate your positive sentiment.
This is great, Laura. I really liked it. I felt that lift while watching the results that night. I think it shows that people still believe in this experiment and are looking for good governance.
Amen and Amen!
Yes! A historic day full of gladness and gratitude. A heavy weight has been lifted from my heart as well.
peace, flower sister…
Nice! I have been assured by a reliable source that, for every attempt to invalidate various election results, there is a counter measure planned. It may be months, but I think we’ve won. For now.
You’re right, it is prudent to not take anything for granted. But I happen to know we both did a little jig of joy in the wee hours after the elections! 🙂
The democratic system has been stretched further than any rubber band should go, but there is comfort in knowing that, though imperfect, there are at least some checks and balances left. Power to the people.
Well, said Pete.
Thank you for this. A new day. Hope restored. Renewed faith and belief.
Bless you, Graciela. A special honor to see you here, united in our shared joy. hugs
I too felt a small liftting of my spirit this morning. The news from your continent followed by a shift in this far corner of the world after yesterday’s municipal elections.
Shared hope across the world…I am grateful for this moment.
Okay that last comment was sent without a comment! Anyway, it was historic! Wise leaders keep seeking wisdom. That’s what we need.
Oh don’t you know it! 🙂
