Had my second jab yesterday. Bring on the old world.

I remember that poem. Why? Because your two poetry collections have been part of my Pandemic Poetry Survival Kit! But then you already knew that.

Congrats on that second jab. Hubby also received his second on Friday. He’s not one to dance a jig, but his heart is definitely much lighter!
How was he after his jab?
No problems, really. Fatigue set in for him the next day and he’s still off and on with the fatigue. It took me a full week to shake the fatigue factor. Not really a big deal, but something to be aware of.
How about yourself?
I had fatigue the day after my first jab which lasted about twenty four hours. Second jab I was fine.
Ps my last post was about a northern lass you may not have heard of before. Though I know you have some UK YouTube issues.
Yep, You Tube keeps the Colonists separated from the British Empire often!
The price of Independence!
While I enjoy reading, I’m often lost when it comes to finding good poetry. This was lovely; like finding a quiet moment of peace to watch something thoughtful and beautiful. Thank you.
So happy to share the beauty that is poetry with another ‘pieceful’ soul.
Very nice, Laura! I just got my second jab today. My wife and I will be getting on an airplane in a week to fly to Montana to see our son. We’ll still take the necessary precautions, but one step closer to normalcy.
Yippee for you and your wife! That’s a great approach – vaxed but still vigilant. I’m sure you’ll enjoy that long awaited visit with your son.
I don’t write poetry (at least good poetry 🙂 ) but I’ve learned to appreciate it more from being in my weekly writers workshop. There are some very good poets in the group. Beautiful montage of images with lovely words and peaceful music to back it up.
Aren’t writers groups great?

That’s pretty much the best way to process this last year. Not all changes are good, not all letting goes are planned, but here we are. Interesting video, poetic, and quietly moving.

FYI (not related to poetry at all) – my 10 days after second jab are up and Monday I plan on making it out to a new coffee shop for some java-somewhere-other-than-at-my-house time! Next stop? A haircut! Definitely a haircut.
